Les Français consomment l’équivalent de 17 500 heures de vidéo chaque seconde

9 Français sur dix utilisent internet, dont 82 % d’entre eux tous les jours. L’Arcep et l’Arcom ont publié, ce 11 avril, la troisième édition de leur référentiel commun des usages numériques de la population française. Le rapport rend notamment compte des applications les plus téléchargées dans le pays en 2022. Pour la première fois, les deux autorités ont aussi partagé la manière dont les Français consomment leurs programmes préférés sur leurs télévisions connectées. Tous les abonnés Canal+ bénéficieront gratuitement d’Apple TV+, dès le 20 avril

Petit coup de théâtre dans le streaming français ! En effet, Canal+ vient d'annoncer un partenariat historique avec Apple pour permettre aux abonnés de la chaine cryptée de bénéficier d'AppleTV+ . Et ce, sans aucun surcout ! UN ACCORD UNIQUE EN SON GENRE ! Les 9,5 millions d'abonnés de Canal+ en France bénéficieront dès le 20 avril prochain (soit dans une semaine) de l'intégralité des contenus de la plateforme Pommée. MSG+ taps Quickplay to power TVE, direct-to-consumer OTT

The imminent new streaming service from sports media provider MSG Networks, MSG+, is to use an industry-first cloud native OTT platform from Quickplay to optimise sports viewing experiences for consumers. MSG Networks owns and operates two regional sports and entertainment networks and a streaming service that serve the New York DMA, as well as other portions of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Strong growth for Asia Pacific OTT revenues

Asia Pacific OTT TV episodes and movie revenues are forecast to reach $52 billion in 2028. This, according to the latest report from Digital TV Research, will up by 56% from the $33 billion recorded in 2022. The report also says that from the $19 billion additional OTT revenues, China will add $4 billion, India $2 billion, South Korea $3 billion and Japan $4 billion. China will account for 38% of the region’s total revenues by 2028, down from 48% in 2022 as the other countries grow faster. US consumer spending on video streaming services drops 25%

The amount spent by US consumers on video streaming services fell to $69 per month in 2022 from a high of $90 the previous year. The amount was identified in research from Parks Associates that showed the amount have fallen by 25% on the period between Q3 2022 and Q1 2021. Mixed picture for Asia Pacific pay-TV

Asia Pacific pay-TV revenues are forecast to reach $26 billion by 2028. This, according to the latest report from Digital TV Research, will $1.6 billion less than 2022. Pay-TV revenues will fall in 10 countries, including Japan (down by $889 million) and China (down by $309 million), between 2022 and 2028. Conversely, India will add $153 million. Commenting on the findings of the report, Simon Murray, principal analyst at Digital TV Research, said: “IPTV revenues will overtake digital cable in 2023. Consumers Spent $50.5 Billion On Apps During Q1 2023

Consumers spent a whopping A$50.5 billion globally on app downloads and in-app purchases during the first three months of 2023, the most shelled out in any three-month period on record. This is according to data.ai’s Q1 2023 Market Pulse Report, which shows iOS spend grew 4 per cent year-on-year, with spending inside Google Play grew 6 per cent. iOS is still far ahead, with A$32.3 billion spent, compared to Google Play’s A$18.2 billion. iOS accounts for 65 per cent of total app store outlay; the figure jumps to 71 per cent for non-gaming apps. As the global video streaming market continues to grow and become increasingly crowded, streaming businesses are looking for ways to maintain their growth and competitive edge with ad-tiers increasingly a priority for service providers shows research from NPAW. You can now use Netflix’s cheaper ads plan on your Apple TV

Netflix’s ad-supported tier finally works with Apple TV set-top box Netflix launched its cheaper “Basic with Ads” plan back in November. But the launch had a significant gotcha for Apple users: The Netflix tvOS app did not support the ads tier, meaning subscribers on that plan simply couldn’t use their Apple TV set-top box to watch Netflix.
