Vodafone Spain launches VoLTE and VoWiFi for all

Vodafone Spain has activated Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) and Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) services for all its customers, both Android and iOS users. The VoLTE option allows customers to enjoy voice calls in High Definition (HD Voice) at no additional cost and without consuming data while accessing data of the operator's 4G+ network, while VoWiFi enables users to make and receive calls via Wi-Fi networks even in the absence of a mobile signal as long as they are near a customer's Wi-Fi hotspot. Vodafone Deutschland adds Apple TV+ to GigaTV

Apple’s streaming service Apple TV+ is now available on Vodafone Deutschland’s TV platform. The Apple TV+ app can be used on the cable receiver GigaTV Cable Box 2 as well as on the GigaTV Net Box, which brings television to the screen via the internet. “With Apple TV+, we are now integrating another first-class streaming service onto the GigaTV platform, offering movie lovers a broad variety of high-quality series and films. Other popular services will follow,” said Marc Albers, Division Director Broadband at Vodafone Deutschland. Access to Apple TV+ costs €6.99 per month, the subscription is taken out via Apple – not via Vodafone. Vodafone also offers GigaTV in combination with the Apple TV 4K box (generation 3).

Vodafone and Three, two of the UK’s biggest carriers, will merge

Announced today, UK carrier Vodafone and Three have reached a deal that will see the two merge into one carrier with a goal to create “one of Europe’s leading 5G networks.” In a press release, Vodafone UK and Three UK announced that merged network, currently referred to as “MergeCo,” will bring “a better network experience with greater coverage and reliability at no extra cost” to UK consumers. It also promises a “six-fold increase in average data speeds” by 2034 and 99% coverage of the UK with its 5G network. Vodafone 5G powers holographic tennis coaching session

Vodafone UK ambassador Emma Raducanu has held a 5G holographic coaching session with two young grassroots tennis players from more than 4,000 miles away.
