Streaming TV growth in Latin America driven by ad-supported viewing

Magnite, an independent omnichannel sell-side advertising company, has unveiled its latest research study, “The Rise of Ad-Supported Streaming: An In-Depth Look at How Ads Are Powering Streaming TV in LATAM.” The research finds that 75% of internet-connected TV viewers across Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico watch ad-supported streaming TV, which includes television content streamed on any device. As streaming reaches a new level of maturity in the LATAM market, the study finds that demand for ad-supported content is increasing. Among those who watch streaming TV, 83% are watching content with ads. SVOD subs fall in UK

The number of households in the UK with access to an SVOD service stood at 19.08 million at the end of the first quarter. This, according to Barb’s Establishment survey, amounted to 67.4% of total households and was down 1.7% on the total at the end of 2022. Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ saw small quarterly drops in the number of UK homes with access to their services: • 16.96 million homes had access to Netflix in Q1 2023, down -1.1% from 17.15 million in Q4 2022. • 12.90 million homes had access to Amazon Prime Video in Q1 2023, down -1.7% from 13.12 million in Q4 2022. • 7.14 million homes had access to Disney+ in Q1 2023, [...]

Bundled services grow in Portugal

The number of service package subscribers in Portugal at the end of Q1 stood at 4.6 million. This, according to the regulator ANACOM, was 150,000, or 3.4%, more than in the same period last year. The growth is exclusively down to 4/5P offers (+177, 000, or +7.7%). The 4/5P offers were also the most used, with 2.5 million subscribers (54.2% of the total number for bundled offers), followed by the 3P offers, with 1.7 million subscribers (36.8%). 3P offers registered the biggest decrease since they started the downward trajectory in 2022 (-1.2%). Qvest becomes technology partner for FAST channel playout of the European League of Football. Sandbox Kids launches on Prime Video Channels in Sweden

Sandbox Kids, a provider of digital subscription content services for children and families worldwide, has launched a local-language preschool entertainment and learning channel in Sweden on Prime Video Channels.
