Sky Stream launches in Ireland

Sky has announced the launch of its Sky Stream device in the Republic of Ireland. Over 150 channels are available and 100,000 hours of aggregated content. The puck-sized box offers the same look and feel as found in Sky Glass, the streaming TV, launched in Ireland a year ago, Sky is promoting a Sky-Netflix bundle that offers Sky’s entertainment package with Netflix for €30 per month. Samsung est poursuivi en justice pour publicité mensongère à propos de ses TV 4K

Samsung et Best Buy sont attaqués en justice pour avoir menti sur les capacités des TV QLED de la marque coréenne. Des clients ont découvert que certains modèles de téléviseurs ne proposent pas les fonctionnalités annoncées. Samsung et la chaîne américaine de magasins Best Buy ont été assignés en justice par un citoyen californien nommé Ray Kim Law. Roku and Shopify partnership brings easy checkout to streaming TV

Roku, one of the earliest streaming services to debut shoppable experiences, is rolling out new offerings. Top line Shopify and Roku are expanding their existing partnership in what they say is a first-of-its-kind offering that will let customers purchase products from Shopify merchants through Roku Action Ads. Three in five Americans see streaming subscriptions as ‘necessary’

Research from DailyStoke has revealed that streaming platforms have become an indispensable part of American lives, finding 62% of saying subscribing to streaming services is necessary, and one in four could not live without subscribing to a service. The study took the opinion of 1,000 American consumers who subscribe to popular streaming services give insights and opinions on all the different platforms available. Overall, nine in ten Americans said that they prefer to stream compared with cable TV. On average Americans were spending $46 a month to stream their favourite shows, movies, and music. Netflix strengthens position in Poland

Netflix now accounts for over half of the time spent on viewing streaming platforms by Polish internet users. According to research by Mediapanel published by Wirtualne Media>, the figure stood at 54.36% in June, up from 50.58% in May. Disney was in second place with 6.97% (6.09%), followed by Player with 6.64% (6.71%) and HBO Max with 6.19% (5.73). The research also shows that Netflix was far ahead of its competitors in terms of real users (11,097,972, compared to 9,960,084 in May), with Disney in second place (3,840,210 compared to 2,955,528 in May). Samsung TV Plus discute avec Altice Media, Amazon avec France Télévisions

Quand AVOD et FAST TV aiguise quelques appétits en France. Selon des informations NPA Conseil vendredi, la plateforme de FAST TV de Samsung, Samsung TV Plus, pourrait voir débarquer dans ses offres BFM TV et une dizaines d’autres chaines du groupe Altice Media au « début de l’automne ». De même, toujours selon cette source, France Télévisions négocierait actuellement avec Amazon pour faire son apparition sur sa plateforme. Netflix adds support for frame rate matching on Google TV and Android TV

Netflix is finally getting on board with frame rate matching on Android TV OS, which will come to Google TV devices like the Chromecast.
