Paramount+ launches mobile-only tier Consumers in Mexico and Brazil will be able to stream Paramount+ via a new mobile-only tier for smart phones and tablets. Paramount says its “competitively priced plan” will allow subscribers to stream the service’s mountain of entertainment on one mobile device or tablet at a time, uninterrupted and without ads. “This new offering is part of our broader strategy to scale Paramount+. Slump

Slump predicted for US video service spend Research from Ampere Analysis is warning that 2023 will become known as the year when per-household spending on subscription streaming (SVOD) services in the US could no longer compensate for the continued decline in pay-TV and spend on video begins to shrink. The study calculates that annual bills for video content peaked at $1,146 per household in the US in 2022 with a post-pandemic bounce-back in theatrical expenditure and an 18% year-on-year increase in SVOD outlay to $374 per household per year. DAZN launches women’s sports FAST channel DAZN RISE DAZN will launch a free, ad-supported streaming channel dedicated to women’s sports in Germany and Austria on March 16, 2023. The FAST channel DAZN RISE will initially be available on Samsung TV Plus and waipu.tv, with other platforms such as LG and Cliq to follow. Zattoo launches FAST movie channel Netzkino TV streaming provider Zattoo has launched its first own FAST channel: Netzkino shows movies from the genres romance, comedy, action, thriller and horror. ESPN wants to create a sports hub – even including competitors ESPN is exploring the creation of a feature on its website and app that would link users directly to a live sporting event that is being streamed. The project is still in development, but CNBC reported that the Disney-owned sports broadcaster has already held conversations with major sports leagues and media partners to gauge their enthusiasm. Sunrise launches OTT sports service with Green Streams Swiss telco Sunrise, a subsidiary of Liberty Global, has launched a new OTT premium pay-TV service on the Green Streams backend platform.
