Streaming services up spend on sports rights

Subscription OTT services’ spend on sports rights globally is forecast to reach $8.5 billion this year. According to a new report by Ampere Analysis, this will be a 64% increase on the total in 2022. The research also predicts that the share of spend on sports rights by streaming platforms will increase in 2023 to reach 21% of global sports rights investment, up from 13% in 2022. Discord Stage Channels adds Twitch-like video and screen sharing Discord is already a beloved communications platform for YouTube and Twitch’s livestreaming communities, but now the company is taking its own first significant step into the livestreaming industry. Announced today, Discord has updated its Stage Channels feature to support video, screen sharing, and a text chat for viewers to interact with hosts and each other. Roku Revenue Flat in Q4, Roku Channel Climbs to Reach 100 Million U.S. Viewers Streaming platform company tops Wall Street expectations for year-end 2022 quarter Roku’s fourth-quarter 2022 earnings came in above previously lowered expectations, as the company continued to see growth in its platform business.
