Samsung TV Plus discute avec Altice Media, Amazon avec France Télévisions

Quand AVOD et FAST TV aiguise quelques appétits en France. Selon des informations NPA Conseil vendredi, la plateforme de FAST TV de Samsung, Samsung TV Plus, pourrait voir débarquer dans ses offres BFM TV et une dizaines d’autres chaines du groupe Altice Media au « début de l’automne ». De même, toujours selon cette source, France Télévisions négocierait actuellement avec Amazon pour faire son apparition sur sa plateforme. Pour NPA Conseil, l’accord « pourrait porter sur la distribution de l’ensemble de l’offre de France Télévisions (la plateforme france.tv) plutôt que de se limiter au signal linéaire des chaînes publiques ». Pluto TV is now available to Virgin Media customers

Virgin Media households with either the Virgin TV 360 or Stream products can now receive over 100 live linear channels from Pluto TV. The genres span drama, news, sport, entertainment and kids’ programmes alongside thousands of iconic films and television series on-demand. FAST channels on the platform include CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, which follows an elite team of forensic investigators. Zattoo adds three FAST Channels

Zattoo now offers the FAST Channels Heimatkino, Fabella and TemporaTV in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. With the three additions, which are operated by Plaion Pictures, Zattoo is now distributing a total of 14 ad-financed, free linear streaming channels. Heimatkino shows emotional and entertaining movies from almost 100 years of German film history. Fabella focuses on love stories, dramas and comedies, while TemporaTV screens documentaries and reports on contemporary history. The channels’ content can be paused at any time, restarted and watched on-demand.

Total TV viewing falls but streaming rebounds in May 2023

After showing an unexpected fall of 2.1% in viewing time during April 2023, streaming has seen a pick up May with audiences drawing on a growing range of services to end with a 36.4% share of all TV viewing says the latest Nielsen’s Gauge research. The research firm attributed some of the increases in its May 2023 study to a change in study methodology change that credits the viewing of streaming originals via cable set-top boxes to the streaming category in order to more fully capture streaming usage. Approximately half of the 2.5% increase in monthly usage reflected this viewing behaviour. wedotv launches German sports channel

The AVOD and FAST Channel provider wedotv is expanding its channel portfolio with wedo sports, a free, ad-supported sports channel that will launch on streaming platforms across German-speaking countries on June 20, 2023. Initially, wedo sports will roll out on Zattoo, waipu.tv, LG Channels and Vidaa in Germany, with other platforms to follow soon. The 24-hour German-language service will also be available on the web at www.wedotv.com and in all wedotv apps. Google TV gets even more free streaming channels, but only on TCL

Free live TV has become especially popular in recent months, with a huge number of free channels built into Google TV. Now, TCL is adding even more free channels to its Google TV (and Roku TV) sets through new partnerships. In a press release today, TCL announced a partnership with Cineverse which will bring the free live TV provider’s “full lineup” to both Google TV and Roku TV sets from TCL. Cineverse offers “dozens” of live channels and over 10,000 on-demand movies and TV show episodes. Amazon Freevee signs FAST Channel deals with MGM and Warner Bros. Discovery

Amazon is expanding its slate of FAST channels with 12 MGM channels and a further 11 from Warner Bros. Discovery.
