DAZN launches women’s sports FAST channel DAZN RISE DAZN will launch a free, ad-supported streaming channel dedicated to women’s sports in Germany and Austria on March 16, 2023. The FAST channel DAZN RISE will initially be available on Samsung TV Plus and waipu.tv, with other platforms such as LG and Cliq to follow. The line-up will include live broadcasts and highlights, in football for example the UEFA Women’s Champions League, the French and Spanish first leagues, Division 1 Féminine and LaLiga Femenina, and from September 2023 the Women’s Bundesliga, as well as golf, handball, basketball, hockey and boxing. Zattoo launches FAST movie channel Netzkino TV streaming provider Zattoo has launched its first own FAST channel: Netzkino shows movies from the genres romance, comedy, action, thriller and horror. For the free, ad-supported streaming channel, Zattoo uses content from German provider Netzkino, a Plaion Pictures brand, that is already available in the on-demand area, to which more than 20 new titles are added every month. YouTube tests suite of FAST channels YouTube is looking to introduce a range of FAST channels as its ambitions continue to lean further towards traditional video. Wall Street Journal reported the Alphabet company was in talks with a number of potential partners to include their films and TV shows. In launching its own FAST channels, YouTube would put itself in competition with international players Roku, Pluto TV and Tubi, and country-specific operations such as ITVX. Amagi: Significant growth for FAST channels Year-on-year growth in the FAST channel market continues to outpace predictions, according to the cloud-based technology Amagi. In the sixth edition of its Quarterly Global FAST Report, the company says growth in Q3 (Jul-Sep) 2022 compared to Q3 (Jul-Sep) 2021 in Europe saw an increase of 99.97% in ad impressions and over 51% in Hours of Viewing. Warner Music Launches First Free FAST Channels, Exclusively on Roku Channel Warner Music Group has punched its way into the free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) segment, with the launch of a trio of genre-based channels exclusively on the Roku Channel. The new channels from the music company — WMX Pop, WMX Rock and WMX Hip-Hop — are now available to stream for free on the Roku Channel through the service’s Live TV Guide.
