Western European pay-TV revenues are forecast to decline by nearly $5 billion, or 18%, between 2022 and 2028. As a result, according to the latest report by Digital TV Research, they will total $22 billion in five years’ time. It adds that the pay-TV subscriber count will drop by 7%, so revenues will fall faster – revealing lower TV ARPUs and less emphasis on TV from the operators. The reports also says that pay-TV revenues will fall in every country in the region except Malta between 2022 and 2028. The UK and France, for instance, will each decline by $1 billion.
