Viaplay launches on Roku devices in the US, Canada and the UK

A recent report from SVB MoffettNathanson suggested that the future for Roku will depend heavily on monetising connected TV and streaming, and as part of this drive it has inked a multi-year partnership with Viaplay Group in the UK, US and Canada. The new deal with the Nordic streamer will see Viaplay’s premium service available for subscription through Roku devices in the US, Canada and the UK. Amazon Luna sees its first-ever expansion, opens to the UK, Germany, and Canada

It’s been roughly a year since Amazon Luna first launched its cloud gaming service to everyone, and to celebrate its anniversary, the service is expanding to three new regions – the UK, Germany, and Canada. Starting today, Amazon Luna will be playable in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Canada. This is the first expansion the service has had so far, being available solely in the United States prior to today. Amazon says the service will be available on “select devices” including Fire TV. 3SS partners with TELUS for Android TV service

3 Screen Solutions (3SS) has entered into a partnership with Canada’s TELUS to launch a new generation Android TV entertainment service. The service offers over 400 channels, over 80,000 On Demand assets, and includes many popular third party streaming apps. Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video are pre-installed and deep-linked. Customers can also install their favourite streaming apps in Google Play Store. TELUS has chosen 3SS’ 3Ready Product Framework for its proven ability to provide a highly viewer-centric, customized UX. Telus taps 3SS to power next-gen TV service Leading Canadian communications technology company Telus has deployed a 3SS 3Ready-based technology platform to launch a next-generation super-aggregated entertainment service based on Android TV OS. The new entertainment service offers over 400 channels, over 80,000 on-demand assets, and includes popular third party streaming apps such as Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video are pre-installed and deep-linked.
