Samsung TV Plus discute avec Altice Media, Amazon avec France Télévisions

Quand AVOD et FAST TV aiguise quelques appétits en France. Selon des informations NPA Conseil vendredi, la plateforme de FAST TV de Samsung, Samsung TV Plus, pourrait voir débarquer dans ses offres BFM TV et une dizaines d’autres chaines du groupe Altice Media au « début de l’automne ». De même, toujours selon cette source, France Télévisions négocierait actuellement avec Amazon pour faire son apparition sur sa plateforme. Pour NPA Conseil, l’accord « pourrait porter sur la distribution de l’ensemble de l’offre de France Télévisions (la plateforme france.tv) plutôt que de se limiter au signal linéaire des chaînes publiques ». Major global expansion for Canal+

Canal+ Group has formed a strategic partnership with PCCW to accelerate the growth of Viu, a leading pan-regional OTT video service with presence across Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa. As a result of the transaction, Canal+ will become a significant minority shareholder in Viu through a staggered investment of $$300 million which includes an initial investment of $200 million resulting in Canal+ holding a 26.1% stake in Viu. In addition to the $300 million, a further investment, at Canal+ option, could result in an increase of Canal+’s stake in Viu to 51%. wedotv launches German sports channel

The AVOD and FAST Channel provider wedotv is expanding its channel portfolio with wedo sports, a free, ad-supported sports channel that will launch on streaming platforms across German-speaking countries on June 20, 2023. Initially, wedo sports will roll out on Zattoo, waipu.tv, LG Channels and Vidaa in Germany, with other platforms to follow soon. The 24-hour German-language service will also be available on the web at www.wedotv.com and in all wedotv apps. Global AVOD to grow by $50bn

Global AVOD revenues for TV series and movies will reach $91 billion in 2028. This, according to the latest report from Digital TV Research, will be up from $41 billion in 2022. It adds that the US will contribute 41% to the 2028 total, adding $20 billion between 2022 and 2028. The report goes on to say that by 2028 nine platforms will generate AVOD revenues in excess of $3 billion, including five global, three from the US and one from China. FAST TV/AVOD : 5,5 millions d’utilisateurs en France…

Selon la 12ème vague du Baromètre OTT NPA Conseil/Harris Interactive, l’offre de chaînes FAST TV et AVOD a progressé de plus de 10% en France, au premier trimestre. L’étude comptabilise en effet près de 540 chaînes au sein des huit plateformes « leaders » (6Play 24/24, LG Channels, Mango, MYTF1 Stream, Plex, Pluto TV, Rakuten TV, Samsung TV Plus) à fin mars 2023, soit 5,5 millions d’utilisateurs mensuels, contre 488 à la fin 2022. AVOD to match SVOD extra revenues in Latin America OTT TV episode and movie revenues for 19 Latin American countries are forecast to increase by $7 billion between 2022 and 2028 to reach $16 billion. According to the latest report from Digital TV Research, AVOD and SVOD will each add $3 billion over this period. Furthermore, SVOD will remain the region’s largest OTT revenue source, contributing $9.7 billion by 2028, or double the AVOD total. AVOD to drive North America OTT growth North American OTT TV episode and movie revenues are forecast to reach $107 billion in 2028. This, according to the latest report from Digital TV Research, will be up from last year’s total of $74 billion. The US will contribute $30 billion from the $33 billion additional revenues, with Canada supplying the rest. Most of the region’s growth will come from AVOD, with North American AVOD revenues increasing by $27 billion to $43 billion. Tubi sees 44% growth in total viewing time, surpasses 5BN streaming hours Tubi has released its annual audience report on the streaming industry, showing the explosive growth in connected TV (CTV) ad spend, while ad-supported video-on-demand (AVOD) services are leading the streaming pack as consumers look to cut subscription costs.
