NBCUniversal, Amazon strike FAST channel deal for local NBC, Telemundo stations

Looking to grow their existing partnership and expand the reach of local news content, NBCUniversal and Amazon are taking NBC- and Telemundo-owned stations' local news channels to the Amazon News app on Fire TV and Echo Show devices. The deal fundamentally allows US-based customers to access premium local breaking news coverage and original content from NBC and Telemundo stations in the top TV regions 24/7, by streaming the stations’ free ad-supported TV (FAST) channels. New Amazon Matter update supports Thread

Amazon has rolled out a major update for the support of its new smart home standard. They have introduced Matter to over 100 million smart speakers, as well as allowing the Alexa iOS app to function better. It has now become easier to connect to any smart home device. L'aventure d'Amazon sur le marché des capteurs d’activité connectés n'aura même pas duré trois ans. Les produits de la gamme Halo et l’application dédiée ne fonctionneront plus à partir du 1er août prochain. Clap de fin pour les bracelets connectés d’Amazon. NAB 2023: AWS opens new gateway for live video

Looking to improve operations in hybrid environments, providing monitoring, security and management of video feeds, AWS has released Elemental MediaConnect Gateway, a new cloud-connected software application for transmitting live video between on-premises multicast networks. Explaining the reasons for the launch, AWS says delivery of live-video multicast streams between datacentres and the cloud typically requires investment in specialised third-party hardware and software or resources to develop a custom solution. It’s a complaint we’ve all heard by now and maybe one you’ve vented about firsthand: voices and conversations are often too difficult to understand when watching TV. I know many people who routinely enable closed captioning — even if they’re not hard of hearing — to be sure they don’t miss anything. Amazon to launch MGM+ in Europe

Amazon has signed a “strategic content deal” with Lionsgate that will enable the rollout of MGM+ International in selected European markets. The parcels-to-showbiz company has secured the rights to a late of popular Lionsgate and Starz series including the Power franchise, Mad Men and Nashville. MGM+ International will debut in Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain and The Netherlands. Monthly subscriptions of €3.99 will be offered through Prime Video Channels.
