Rakuten TV launches own FAST channels

Streaming platform Rakuten TV has entered the TV series landscape by launching a reality/factual entertainment channel in the UK and Crime series channels in DACH, France, Italy and Spain. Real Series and Crime made their debuts in the UK and Italy respectively on April 12. All channels will be available not only on the Rakuten TV platform and also on Samsung’s TV Plus service and More FAST platforms to follow. Tous les abonnés Canal+ bénéficieront gratuitement d’Apple TV+, dès le 20 avril

Petit coup de théâtre dans le streaming français ! En effet, Canal+ vient d'annoncer un partenariat historique avec Apple pour permettre aux abonnés de la chaine cryptée de bénéficier d'AppleTV+ . Et ce, sans aucun surcout ! UN ACCORD UNIQUE EN SON GENRE ! Les 9,5 millions d'abonnés de Canal+ en France bénéficieront dès le 20 avril prochain (soit dans une semaine) de l'intégralité des contenus de la plateforme Pommée. Amazon to launch MGM+ in Europe

Amazon has signed a “strategic content deal” with Lionsgate that will enable the rollout of MGM+ International in selected European markets. The parcels-to-showbiz company has secured the rights to a late of popular Lionsgate and Starz series including the Power franchise, Mad Men and Nashville. MGM+ International will debut in Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain and The Netherlands. Monthly subscriptions of €3.99 will be offered through Prime Video Channels. MSG+ taps Quickplay to power TVE, direct-to-consumer OTT

The imminent new streaming service from sports media provider MSG Networks, MSG+, is to use an industry-first cloud native OTT platform from Quickplay to optimise sports viewing experiences for consumers. MSG Networks owns and operates two regional sports and entertainment networks and a streaming service that serve the New York DMA, as well as other portions of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Google TV propose désormais plus de 800 chaînes gratuites financées par la publicité

À partir d'aujourd'hui, Google TV ajoute des centaines de nouvelles chaînes de streaming à son écran d'accueil, toutes disponibles gratuitement. Celles-ci sont essentiellement financées par la publicité. Alors que regarder la télévision coûte de plus en plus cher, les opérateurs augmentant régulièrement les tarifs de leurs abonnements, Google a décidé de proposer des chaînes gratuites sur son système d’exploitation Google TV. Amazon brings MGM+ streaming service to Europe, adds Lionsgate content

Amazon is bringing the MGM+ streaming service to Europe. Following the relaunch of Epix as MGM+ in the US in January, Amazon is introducing the MGM+ International service in several European countries, the Hollywood Reporter writes. DirecTV launches free Gemini streaming device based on Android TV

Just after it leaked earlier this week, DirecTV has officially launched its new “Gemini” streaming device based on Google’s Android TV. Available starting today, DirecTV is launching “Gemini,” a new streaming device that is built on top of Android TV OS and works with both DirecTV’s service as well as other streaming services such as Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, YouTube, and others. France Télévisions plans UHD Olympics

France Télévisions is planning to launch 4K broadcast service in time for the Paris Olympics in 2024. It’s anticipated the initial 4K versions of France 2 and France 3 will launch as early as September this year. Under the proposal France 2 would be broadcast entirely in 4K, broadcasting native UHD shows, and upscaling those that were not available in the format. France 3 would only broadcast in UHD for part of the time. France Télévisions plans a definition of 2160p at 50 frames per second, based on 10-bit encoding and HEVC compression. discovery+ added to Telia Play

Telia Play subscribers in Lithuania can now enjoy a slate of lifestyle, home, true crime, adventure, science and tech content on Discovery+. The Warner Bros. Discovery streamer has been added following a new agreement with Telia Play. Jamie Cooke, General Manager CEE, Baltics, Middle East, Mediterranean and Turkey at Warner Bros.
