New Warner Pass launches on Amazon Prime Video France
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) and Prime Video are to create a new ‘Warner Pass’ that would bring together content from HBO and other outlets within the group to “bring together a unique collection of Warner Bros. Discovery’s popular and award-winning programming.”
The service will be distributed exclusively on Amazon Prime Video Channels in France as part of an offer that brings together HBO and 12 other channels including Warner TV, Eurosport, Discovery Channel, Cartoon Network and CNN, and their on-demand services.
On Wednesday it was confirmed WarnerTV, along with TCM Cinema, CNN, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Boing and Toonami would be leaving Canal Plus, after the Vivendi-owned platform was unable to reach a new agreement with WBD.
In a promotional offer, Prime Video Subscribers will have free access to the new HBO series The Last of Us, available from January 16.
Later in the year new seasons of HBO shows Succession, Perry Mason and The Gilded Age will be made available as will library content Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, Sex and The City, The Wire, Veep and Chernobyl
“The launch of the ‘Warner Pass’ is great news for the French audience as our fans will be able to access all HBO series and our 12 television channels with a single subscription,” said Pierre Branco, General Manager France, Benelux & Africa at Warner Bros. Discovery.
It’s not anticipated the move will impact Warner Bros. Discovery plans to launch its combined Discovery/HBO streamer in France in the future.
