Streaming and pay-TV grow in Portugal
Usage of streaming video services in Portugal increased by 9 percentage points between 2020-22.
Furthermore, according to a report by the regulator ANACOM on the country’s communications market, Meo accounted for the highest share of pay-TV subscribers at the end of last year (41.1%), followed by Nos (37%) and Vodafone (18.8%). Pay-TV penetration in 2022 increased by 1.3 percentage points and in the domestic sector there were 96 accesses per 100 households at the end of last year.
Growth in penetration of fixed services was due to the growing take-up of bundled offers, which reached a penetration rate of 91.4 per 100 households.
