Lucid Confirms Apple CarPlay is Now Available on EVs, Comes Standard with Connectivity Feats

A car infotainment feature is already confirmed to arrive on Lucid, previously rumored in the industry, with the addition of Apple CarPlay support for users to connect their smartphones to the EV. Lucid brings this news to the world, confirming that its luxury electric vehicle lineup will get the Apple CarPlay feature as a standard to its Connectivity features.

This is one of the most expansive experiences for an EV-only company, as other automakers in the clean energy camp are not that open to getting the famed Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on their tech.

Lucid Confirms Apple CarPlay Now Available on EVs

Lucid recently shared via a tweet, confirming that the Apple CarPlay integration is now available on their electric vehicles, particularly to the company’s Connectivity features available for users. In the tweet, the company claims that Apple CarPlay will come standard to all Lucid electric vehicles, and this is a feature users will enjoy on their devices.

CarPlay would allow drivers or passengers to connect their iPhones seamlessly to Lucid’s massive infotainment system.

However, it is important to note that it would not be for the car’s entire Glass Cockpit display, and would only be on one side, with a small window. Lucid’s Glass Cockpit covers the entire gauge cluster and infotainment system, but it would only appear on the driver’s right side, where most car radios are situated.

Tesla, Rivian Still Holds Out on CarPlay
Lucid is among the pioneers of the EV-only company in the US which brought Apple’s CarPlay to their cars, as not all renowned automotive makers are allowing this into their system.

Tesla and Rivian are notoriously known for skimping on the Apple CarPlay on their system, using other methods to connect their smartphones to their displays and entertainment systems.

Lucid and its EV Development
Lucid is one of the most iconic American EV car companies which took the competition to Tesla, and the company aims to rival the company’s releases, centering on its ‘Luxury’ branding. The company claimed that its Lucid Air EV was better than Tesla’s Model S, and the company previously enjoyed the largest SPAC deal in its claims.

However, it was not smooth sailing for the company in the past, particularly with its solo EV release at the time which is with the Lucid Air.

The company experienced a hit in its production, and one of its main struggles was in the delivery of its EV. It was centered on the company’s supply chain, a requirement to create its vehicles.

This is something that Lucid already overcame, and the California-based automaker is now looking to expand more of its units to bring to the world. Soon, there would be more EVs to arrive from Lucid, and one thing is sure to come with it, the Apple CarPlay that is now a standard on its cars, accessible via the Connectivity features.
