Microsoft Stops Game Development For Xbox One
Microsoft’s upcoming blockbuster games, such as Starfield, will not be coming to the Xbox One console, the company has confirmed.
The Xbox One was released in 2013, and has since been usurped by the XBox Series X and S, although the updated Xbox One X is relatively recent, having been released in 2017.
Microsoft’s head for game studios, Matt Booty, confirmed the company will no longer develop games for the Xbox One in an interview with Axios, saying, “We’ve moved on to Gen 9,” referring to the Xbox Series X.
The most recent Minecraft will be the final major in-house title to support the Xbox One, according to Booty.
It’s not all bad news for Xbox One gamers, who can still play newer games through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate’s cloud gaming feature.
