Samsung SmartThings Find network expands to over 300 mln nodes

Samsung Electronics said that SmartThings Find expanded to include 300 million 'find nodes', registered and opted-in devices that can help other Samsung Galaxy users find their devices. Sky launches smart home insurance package

Sky has announced the launch of a new smart home protection service that offers customers home insurance and smart home tech worth £250. The Sky Protect Smart Home Insurance package is underwritten by Zurich Insurance and features a suite of smart home tech products including a video doorbell, indoor camera, leak detectors, motion sensor and contact sensors. New Amazon Matter update supports Thread

Amazon has rolled out a major update for the support of its new smart home standard. They have introduced Matter to over 100 million smart speakers, as well as allowing the Alexa iOS app to function better. It has now become easier to connect to any smart home device. New JBL speakers to include Wi-Fi

New JBL speakers that include the Boombox 3 and Charge 5 have been announced that will now include a brand new WiFi capability, that introduces new ways to stream, it will also boost sound quality. Unfortunately, the technology is not backward compatible, older models won’t be able to be updated to include WiFi. Alexa Multi-Room Music, Chromecast, and AirPlay 2 will now all be supported under the new WiFi coverage. A1 Bulgaria and Slovenia opt for TARA Systems

A1 Group and TARA Systems have expanded their cooperation to include player exchanges at A1 Bulgaria and A1 Slovenia. The effort is aimed at extending the significant user experience enhancements from TARA’s new Inaris Media Player in Austria to other A1 Group countries. In A1 Slovenia’s network, the player had to accommodate IP access via 5G mobile networks, which differs from A1 Austria’s setup. Meanwhile, the challenge for A1 Bulgaria was to integrate the Inaris Media Player into an existing hybrid OTT/DVB-C product. Throughout the integration process and testing phase, TARA’s monitoring and analytics system closely supervised all activities. According to TARA, the field launch was successfully completed in March.

waipu.tv reaches 1 million subscribers

German TV streaming provider waipu.tv has passed the one million paying customer mark. In addition, there are more than three million users of the free offer, according to Munich-based operator Exaring. Besides its B2C platform, the company also supplies mobile network operators and cable operators with a TV product as a B2B service with customers including parent company Freenet as well as o2, Deutsche Glasfaser (following the shutdown of its own TV service BrightBlue) and local internet providers.
