Sling continues to add more Free TV Channels to Freestream

Sling TV has just added another 8 channels to its Freestream service. That’s their FAST service, with over 300 channels of free live TV. And about 41,000 on-demand titles, all for free. The new channels added to Sling’s Freestream service today, are mostly sports related. Viaplay launches on Roku devices in the US, Canada and the UK

A recent report from SVB MoffettNathanson suggested that the future for Roku will depend heavily on monetising connected TV and streaming, and as part of this drive it has inked a multi-year partnership with Viaplay Group in the UK, US and Canada. The new deal with the Nordic streamer will see Viaplay’s premium service available for subscription through Roku devices in the US, Canada and the UK. Apple TV+ a bien trouvé sa place dans myCanal et sur Canal+

Comme prévu, Apple TV+ s’est trouvé une place dans myCanal et sur la chaîne Canal+. Et même une belle place, puisque le service de streaming du groupe Canal met bien en avant celui d’Apple ainsi que ses contenus exclusifs. Des contenus qui sont, comme promis, accessibles depuis l’app myCanal et non depuis l’app TV d’Apple qui n’est pas nécessaire pour bénéficier de la nouveauté. Les abonnés à Canal n’auront pas le choix, le contenu d’Apple TV+ ne leur sera même pas accessible depuis l’app TV d’Apple. TiVo’s Android TV dongle has lost Sling TV integration

In 2020 TiVo launched a new Android TV dongle that brought support for content aggregation well ahead of Google’s effort to do the same in Google TV later that year. Now, though, the TiVo Stream 4K that introduced that vision is losing one of its key features: integration with Sling TV. The TiVo Stream 4K is an Android TV dongle that’s still sold for $40. Rakuten TV launches own FAST channels

Streaming platform Rakuten TV has entered the TV series landscape by launching a reality/factual entertainment channel in the UK and Crime series channels in DACH, France, Italy and Spain. Real Series and Crime made their debuts in the UK and Italy respectively on April 12. All channels will be available not only on the Rakuten TV platform and also on Samsung’s TV Plus service and More FAST platforms to follow.
