Samsung may unveil its first foldable tablet this year

According to a new rumor shared by Revegnus, Samsung may actually unveil its first foldable tablet this year. The tipster shared the info via a tweet, and it got retweeted by Ice Universe, a well-known tipster.

Samsung may announce its first foldable tablet this year, actually
In his tweet, Revegnus says that the device may launch alongside the Galaxy Tab S9 series this year. He also referred to it as the ‘Z Tab’, so the name of the product could be the Galaxy Z Tab.

The Galaxy Tab S8 series launched in February last year. The same did not happen with the Galaxy Tab S9 series this year. Samsung could launch those tablets alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 in August, though.

If this foldable tablet is also in Samsung’s plans, that event may even be overkill. So, will Samsung launch its tablets during a separate event at some point? Well, that’s a possibility. Samsung may want to spread out its announcements a bit.

Do note that Revegnus is not 100% sure of this information, based on his comments, but he does believe it’s quite possible. He used the phrase “high probability”, so… there you go. He did say that if it doesn’t launch this year, then next year for sure.

It would be a three-fold device, and quite heavy at the same time
What will this device look like? Well, the Galaxy Z Tab could be the company’s first three-fold device. It would fold into a smartphone form, but it’ll be a lot thicker than your regular foldable phones.

When unfolded, a large display would greet you, 10+ inches in diagonal. We can only guess what specs will this device offer at this point, as no specific information got shared.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 could be included, along with a 120Hz display. That thing would also need quite a large battery to keep it going throughout the day, as its display will be quite large. The device will also be quite heavy once it launches, so get ready for that too.

The price is a mystery at this point, but it will likely be higher than what the Galaxy Z Fold 4 cost at launch. So, we’re probably looking at a price tag of over $1,799.
