Czech pay-TV still lagging behind Slovakia

There are a third fewer viewers with pay-TV in the Czech Republic than in neighbouring Slovakia. According to Atmedia, while the figure in the former among those aged 15-69 stood at 57% in the second half of 2022, it was 95% in the latter. Mixed picture for East European pay-TV

The number of pay-TV subscribers in Eastern Europe is forecast to fall by 8 million from 81 million in the peak year of 2018 to 73 million in 2028. However, according to the latest report by Digital TV Research, 2018 included 17 million analogue cable subscribers, which will drop to zero by 2027.
