Rakuten TV expands in Poland
The streaming platform Rakuten TV has added two new localised FAST channels to its offer in Poland.
Grjngo is the world’s largest streaming brand for western films, of which there is also a localised version in German, Spanish and English, while Bjgtjme is focused on other film genres with all its content in English and dubbed into Polish. Both channels are owned by the international operator Amogo Networx.
Rakuten TV is currently distributed in 43 European countries. Since 2020 it has significantly increased its TVOD offer in Poland in partnership with Polish content providers. Moreover, since the beginning of this year it has increased considerably its AVOD and FAST section catalogue in Poland.
In February, Rakuten TV added nearly 100 films to its catalogue in Poland with the option of Polish audio. Among them are: Blood Brother, Vendetta, Letters to Juliette or Single Mums Club. More titles are expected to be added in May.
Rakuten TV says that it currently has 69 English-language FAST channels, including well-known brands such as Baby Shark TV, Euronews, Bloomberg.
All of them are showing remarkable growth and the platform is considering the possibilities of acquiring content to operate its own channels adapted to each territory.
